BEFORE MY COURSE
HOW DO I BOOK A COURSE?
We offer different powerboat courses; to book the right one, simply call us at 04 452 3332 and speak to one of our advisory consultants to select the course that best match your qualifications and requirements. More details on courses can be found here.
WHEN DO I PAY DEPOSIT/ BALANCE FOR THE COURSE?
Full payment is required upon enrolling.
WHAT MODES OF PAYMENT DO YOU ACCEPT?
Payments are accepted by Cash, Credit or Debit Card, Cheque, PayPal and Bank Transfers.
WHAT IS CANCELLATION POLICY?
- 50% of the payment value retained up to 168 hrs prior to the training time and date.
- 100 % of booking value retained within 72 hrs of the booking time and date
WHAT DOES THE CLASSROOM LOOK LIKE?
Our classroom is roomy, fully air-conditioned with well-lit spaces conducive for learning. It is conveniently located within our main office on at Unit 3, Al Majara Tower 2, Dubai Marina.
Unlike other training centers, Xclusive Sea School provides a unique practical session held at Dubai Marina on a 6.5m Single-Engine Powerboat.
HOW DO I CHOOSE WHICH COURSE IS RIGHT FOR ME?
We have courses for suitable for both beginners and experienced candidates. You may refer to the courses page to view the available options. Alternatively, you may call the hotline number at 04 452 3332 and speak to one of our advisory consultants.
WHAT IF I AM GOING TO ARRIVE LATE?
If you anticipate that you are going to be late for a course then call 04 452 3332 at the earliest to let the instructor know.
WHAT DO I NEED TO BRING?
- Make sure to bring your Booking Form with Booking ID and a Valid ID proof on both days
- Relevant RYA Course Books provided on the day of enrolling
- Relevant RYA Log books provided
- Additional Pen/ Notepad if required by student
- Sunscreen / Cap / Sunglasses if needed
- Medication if needed
DURING MY COURSE
WILL I BE SAFE ON BOARD?
Our vessels are equipped with the latest safety equipments as we place high priority when it comes to safety and regulation. There will be a supervisor who will be a competent and professional skipper or instructor who is RYA qualified to assist at all times and life jackets and other safety gadgets will be provided to students on board.
Prior to commencing any course, there will be a thorough briefing on the use of safety equipment and the safety measures that needs to be practiced on and off board. The weather and sea conditions will be constantly monitored so that there will be a smooth sailing experience.
WHAT KIND OF BOATS DO YOU HAVE IN YOUR FLEET?
We primarily use the 6.5-meter single-engine Xclusive 21 boat that is permanently based at the Dubai Marina Yacht Club. The X21 is powered by a 150HP Yamaha 4 stroke outboard engine. The engine houses a trim and tilt ram operations and has a stop/ jam button. It has a GPS, radio & VHF, and all the safety gear as well as lines and fenders.
We also allow custom training on our fleet that are within 40ft. More details on our fleet can be seen here.
WHAT TIME SHOULD I ARRIVE FOR MY COURSE?
We emphasize on punctuality and discipline and anticipate all students to arrive at least 15 mins prior to the start of each session. If there is an unforeseen situation, the student is required to call XSS and inform the instructor on the delay.
The course schedule will be communicated to each student individually.
WHAT TIME DOES THE CLASS START?
The course duration will be 1 or 2 days depending on the selection of the course. Each student will be individually informed on the start date, class duration from 09:00 – 17:30.
AFTER MY COURSE
WHAT DOCUMENTS DO I NEED TO BRING WITH ME?
- Xclusive Sea School Booking Form with the Booking ID
- Valid ID Proof
- RYA Logbooks and Course books provided during enrolling
HOW MANY OTHER STUDENTS WILL BE WITH ME?
We emphasize on RYA standards which allows a maximum of 3 students per session. We follow a 1:3 instructor to student ratio.
WHAT DO YOU PROVIDE ON BOARD?
- Learning Aids
- Pens/ Books / Required instrument boxes
- Water
- All navigation equipment, navigation plotter, dividers, charts, pilot book, hand bearing compass.
- Lifejackets
WHERE WILL WE GO?
The theory training classes will be held at Dubai Marina. For practical and advanced powerboat driving lessons, the practice sessions will be carried away from the mainland.
WHAT LANGUAGE WILL THE COURSE BE IN?
The courses will be taught and examined in English. However, we do have a multi lingual team who can assist you with any questions and clarifications.
WHAT IS INCLUDED IN MY COURSE FEE?
Xclusive Sea School will provide the learning aids required for each student to complete the course.
We are responsible for the safety and well being of each student on board and also refuel the boat after each training session.
